Ratings & Reviews 1 12V Li-Ion Cordless Drill is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 5. Rated 5 out of 5 by SalceyForest from All you really need. Unless you want to drill deep holes in metal or through your house (for pipework etc) this drill will do your job. Its light weight belies the power you can get out of it and it has an overall feeling of a quality machine. In my case it makes short work of big holes in metal panels with a step-drill. Battery life is good, although with Li-Ion it tends to die just after you've noticed it needs charging because these batteries have built-in low voltage protection. Even with a fast charger, a spare battery would be appreciated, although it's almost cheap enough to get 2 drills. Top tip: extend the charge life by letting it slow down gently instead of just letting go the trigger. Date published: 2015-07-13 Rated 5 out of 5 by JohnG from Every home should have one! Solid chunky feel, a bit smaller than I imagined, (so very handy) but a great, powerful, tool. Finally a drill that doesn't need a cord, or having to re-charge for ages before you can use it because batteries are flat just because they haven't been used recently, ready to go in less than an hour if they have gone flat! The tool I've wanted for years. Can we have some more power tools with Lithium Ion batteries please? Date published: 2015-07-13 Rated 5 out of 5 by Daveg208 from Does what it says on the box. Good value, but I would like to get a spare battery. I don't know if they are available though. It's by no way a 'heavy duty' drill but for light work such as drilling timber fencing, drilling and fixing decking etc. it's ideal. Battery life has always been sufficient for my needs but it would be nice if additional batteries were available so you always have a spare or two fully charged. Light weight, small and comfortable to hold and use, so perfect for what I wanted. There's no hammer action but then it's not designed for stone and masonry work. I'll probably buy another one to double up the battery life and save switching from drill to screwdriver bits.
