USB mains socket
This has to comply with BS as its sold in the UK.
USB is low voltage transformer and is powered on all the time but if there is no device attached current is not being drawn .
BS will ensure the low voltage side is protected from high voltage with adequate insulation. The low voltage side has no shutters unlike the plug socket.
You should have this fitted by a competent person. Isolate the ring main before fitting.
The socket is constantly used and I will get another couple next time they are on offer

great product, has the capacity to charge i phones etc. Only information missing is;
Does it have/comply to BS/En approval and does the transformer disconnect when the charging lead is removed? Otherwise this is drawing current all the time. I have seen this product at almost twice the price elsewhere!

great idea
frees up your mains sockets. if nothing is pluged into the usb NO CURRENT will be drawn (no consumer cost) simples.....should have one in every room.

saves bulky chargers but more importantly frees up a socket or two but referring to previous review does the switch also switch on the relevant USB port as photo indicates or is it live all the time
