For outside use, you have to have the correct size drill and length to go through the cavity wall, large enough for the screw cap of the AC adaptor. I doubt many households will have this. Great shame about only being able to plug indoors as meant lot of work for husband who is trained electrician. Nice water flow (if set to slow) but unfortunately the motor is so noisy that I'll be taking this back tomorrow as it produces a loud buzz or hum rather than a soothing tinkle of water and I won't be able to tolerate it. Real shame because it spoils what would otherwise be a good value purchase.
