Invaluable - and has a useful 'scene' feature
If you have several lights in a room one of these devices is invaluable as you don't have to go round switching each one on individually, and unlike some sets it has All On and All Off buttons.

Assuming these are the same as offered in previous years, there's a feature that's only referred to deep in the instructions - the receivers can be controlled by more than one button. This means you can set up scenes, where button1 switches on lamps 1&2 (watching TV), button two switches on lamps 2, 3 & 4 (dining) and so on.
