Good product
I guess if you had to use it multiple times every day it would begin to show it's price at some point. But for the average home user it seems to be fine. As for not creating a thread I can tell you it does the job well even without the split. The taps and dies are tapered so you can get a good start on whatever you are using them on. There is an instruction leaflet should you need it and other stuff like a thread measurement set and an attachment to allow manual drilling. All in all for what I need it for I am impressed.

OK for cleaning up damaged threads
I bought this set previously and found the die nuts are only for clearing damaged threads.
They are not for starting new threads as they are not split nuts

Tap and die set
Yes it is just a tap and die set, but it is Aldi. For the size, quantity, quality and the price I can't fit beaten by anyone else. Love mine, Get yours!!
